The COD process involves collecting the payment from the customer by the delivery person and then transferring it to the seller's bank account.

Understanding how COD payments work

Enable COD orders on your website and set up your sales channels on your Eshopbox. Eshopbox will automatically import and create these COD orders on your workspace. If you are creating COD orders via manual import, you need to mention the payment mode as COD.

  • Once a COD order is delivered to the customer, Eshopbox takes a few days to reconcile the payments and initiate the payout for the COD payments.

  • The payment initiation will result in either a successful or failed transaction.

  • Once the transaction is successful, it will be marked as Paid.

Depending on your payment term settings as well as the bank account or business details submitted, the payment will be processed or put on hold. Learn here about on-hold and failed payments.

Understanding the COD payment cycle

Payment for all orders is due within seven days of delivery, with settlements taking place every Monday. For example, if a COD order is delivered on Wednesday, October 11th, payment will be due on Wednesday, October 18th, and the settlement will occur on the following Monday, i.e. October 23rd.

Tracking and reconciling COD payments

After the successful processing of COD payments, the payable amount will be transferred to the bank account linked to your Eshopbox workspace.
