Managing your location

Managing your location

A location is any physical place from where you

  • sell products

  • ship or fulfil orders

  • stock inventory

You can also configure your self fulfilment location in the Eshopbox workspace from where you want to perform any of the above activities.

This can be a retail store, warehouse, popup, drop shipper, or any other place where you want to manage or stock inventory.

By configuring multiple locations, you can have better visibility of your inventory and streamline order fulfilment.

In this article, you will learn how to add and configure a location.

Configuring a location

To add a location, you need to follow the below-given steps:

  • Step 1: Log in to your Eshopbox workspace.

  • Step 2: From the header, navigate to Settings.

  • Step 3: You will be redirected to the Settings page. Click on Locations.

  • Step 4: You will be redirected to the Locations page. From the Locations page, select My Locations.

  • Step 5: Navigate to the top pane and click on Add location.

  • Step 6: You will be redirected to the Add Location page. Provide the following details to add a location:

    • Location code: Unique code that helps to identify the particular location. e.g. DEL01.

Note: If you are using an ERP, we recommend you keep the same location code as created in your ERP. Eshopbox will use this code for integration with your ERP. Once saved, the location code cannot be edited.

    • Location name: Name of your location. e.g. Delhi FC.

    • Self fulfilment: If you want to fulfil orders from this location, then you need to turn the toggle ON.

When you enable self-fulfilment settings, you need to select how to manage inventory for the location. You can choose from the following options:

      • Do not manage inventory

      • Manage inventory at the SKU level

      • Manage inventory at the Unit level

Depending on the inventory management option you choose, the relevant fulfilment workflows will be enabled automatically. You can further edit these workflows using Self Fulfilment settings.

Below are the details of default and available settings, as per each inventory management method:

Inventory Management Methods

How will inventory management work?

How will order management work?

Do not manage Inventory

You can not manage your inventory in Eshopbox. You need to update inventory directly on sales channels.

Sales channels like Amazon, Myntra, Ajio and others will not work with this method.

Eshopbox automatically fetches orders from integrated channels, or you can import them using CSV.

You can process orders using the bulk pack method.

Manage Inventory at SKU Level

You can manage your inventory for each product in Eshopbox and sync it automatically across sales channels.

You can add your inventory in two ways:
1. Upload in bulk using CSV
2. Inward with the scan based process.

Eshopbox automatically fetches orders from integrated channels, or you can import them using CSV.

You can process orders using either the bulk pack method or the scan and pack method.

Manage Inventory at Unit Level

You can manage your inventory for each product in Eshopbox and sync it automatically across sales channels.

This is an advanced inventory management method where each unit of the product is assigned a unique barcode. This allows you to track your inventory with greater accuracy.

You can inward your inventory using only scan-based process.

NotesThe inventory management method cannot be changed once your location is created.

    Notes
These details will be used for printing on the shipping label and invoice for shipping an order from this location.

  • Step 8: Click on Submit.

A new location will be added to your Eshopbox workspace. You can now view all the details of this location on your workspace. When creating a location with self-fulfilment enabled, we recommend you review the self-fulfilment settings. You can edit the self-fulfilment settings before starting order processing at that specific location.
