Once shipments are packed, you need to create a manifest. Manifest is a document that acts as proof of handing over the shipments to the courier partner. It contains information such as manifest ID, shipping provider details, and tracking IDs for shipments being handed over. The manifests will be created based on the courier partner, sales channel, and expected handover date.
Eshopbox allows you multiple ways to manifest orders, depending on the manifest method selected in the self fulfilment settings. The available manifesting methods are:
Bulk Manifest: This method allows you to create manifests for multiple shipments at once without the need for scanning each shipment. To do so, simply select the shipments in bulk and create the manifest. Learn here how to manifest orders in bulk.
Scan and Manifest: This method allows you to scan each shipment to create the manifest. This ensures that the shipments are accurately added to their respective manifest.
Before you start, make sure:
All the shipments are packed.
Shipments are segregated as per their sales channel and shipping provider.
In this article, you will learn how to manifest orders with the scan and manifest method.
You need to follow the below-given steps to manifest an order using the scan and manifest method.
Step 1: Login into your Eshopbox workspace.
Step 2: From the header, navigate to Orders > Process Order.
You will be redirected to the Shipments page.
Step 3: Click on Ship from the top pane.
You will be redirected to the Manifests page.
Step 4: Navigate to the right side of the top pane and click on Create manifest.
You will be redirected to the Create manifest page.
Note: The Create manifest button will be only visible if you have selected scan and manifest in self fulfilment settings.
Step 5: Scan the Tracking ID mentioned on the shipping label of the packed shipment. The corresponding Courier partner and Sales channel will be displayed on the screen. Click on OK to proceed.
Note: Keep the Manifest ID handy with you. Manifest ID is visible on the right side in the history section.
A manifest will be created with a unique manifest ID and you will be redirected to the Manifest page. Now you need to add shipments to the manifest.
Step 6: Click on Drafts view to get a list of all the created manifests. You can select the particular Manifest from the list or you can search using Manifest ID in the search bar and press enter. Now, click on Add shipments against the particular manifest you have created.
You will be redirected to the Add Shipments page.
Step 7: Click on Add.
Step 8: Scan the Vmeasure device physically present at your location. Make sure the system token is pasted on the machine for easy identification.
Note: This is only applicable
For orders shipped using Eshopbox shipping.
If you have enabled the Vmeasure settings for your location. Learn here how to manage Vmeasure settings for your location.
Step 9: Place the shipment on the Vmeasure device and scan the Tracking ID mentioned on the shipping label. Once done, click OK to proceed.
Step 10: Eshopbox will verify the chargeable weight slab of the shipment.
If the slabs match, the shipment will be added to the manifest.
If the slabs do not match, the system will display an error message stating that the chargeable weight does not match. You need to:
Rescan the shipment to verify the weight again.
Sideline the shipment if the discrepancy persists.
To do so, you need to enter a Tote ID, and the status of the shipment will be updated as Sidelined on manifest. Learn here how to manage sidelined on manifest shipments.
Step 11: Scan all the shipments that you need to add to this manifest similarly. Click on Complete to proceed. Verify the Tracking ID of all the shipments added and click on Complete.
Step 12: Click on Print to print the manifest. Keep the manifested shipments in a bag or box along with their printed manifest copy. Click on OK to proceed.
You will be redirected to the Manifests page. All shipments added to the manifest will be marked as Manifested. Now you need to take the manifested shipments to the handover staging area for handover. Learn here how to handover orders.
A shipment may be marked as sidelined on manifest due to:
A mismatch between the weight recorded in Eshopbox and the weight measured by Vmeasure.
Incorrect packaging material being used.
Loose or improper packing that may cause discrepancies in dimensions.
For a shipment marked as sidelined on manifest, ensure that:
The correct tracking ID was scanned.
The shipment was correctly placed on the Vmeasure machine.
The packaging was intact and matches the recorded dimensions.
