When a delivery fails, the shipment is returned to the origin at the defined Return to Origin (RTO) delivery address. Eshopbox allows you to define the address where you want your RTO orders to be delivered. You can configure this address at either the workspace level or the location level, depending on your operational needs.
In this article, you will learn how to configure your RTO delivery address.
Methods of configuring the RTO delivery address
There are two ways to configure the RTO delivery address:
Workspace level: This configuration applies to all orders shipped from any location within the workspace. All returns are routed to a single, predefined Return-to-Origin (RTO) address, regardless of where the shipment is picked up.
Location level: This method lets you assign an RTO delivery location specific to each fulfilment location. Returns for orders will be delivered to the assigned Return to Origin (RTO) location.
Note: If neither workspace-level nor location-level RTO configuration is enabled, Eshopbox will automatically route all RTO shipments to the default pickup address.
How to configure RTO delivery address?
To set up an RTO delivery address in your workspace, raise a ticket to the Eshopbox Support team with the following details:
Method of RTO configuration: Workspace level or Location level.
Pickup location code: The code identifying the fulfilment location where orders ship from. This is required if you want to configure at the Location level.
RTO location code: The code for your chosen return delivery location.
The support team will implement your configuration and notify you once the routing changes are complete. Learn here how to raise a ticket to Eshopbox Support.
FAQs
Q1. If I have set up both workspace-level and location-level RTO configurations, which location takes precedence?
For newly created locations, the workspace-level configuration will be given preference.
Q2. Will configuring a different RTO delivery address impact shipping charges?
Yes, shipping charges can vary significantly when the RTO delivery location is changed to a different zone.
For example, if an order ships from Mumbai and the RTO delivery location is changed from Mumbai to Bengaluru, the RTO freight charges will increase due to a change in the shipping zone.
