You can configure multiple fees charged by the service provider on your Eshopbox workspace, such as

  • Shipping fee

  • Commission fee

  • Payment gateway fee

If your service provider charges you any other fee from those mentioned above, you need to configure it as a ‘custom fee’ in Eshopbox.

Before you start

  • You should know the applicability of the fee

  • You should know the payment terms with your service provider

Steps to Configure fee

Navigate to Settings > Fees > Configure fee and follow the below steps to configure a fee.

Step I - Choose a sales channel

Select the service provider for which you want to configure fees. After selecting a sales channel, click continue. If your sales channel is different from the service provider, then uncheck the tick on “sales channel is same as the service provider” and mention the service provider name.

💡 Select custom if the sales channel for which you want to configure the fee is not available in the drop-down.

Step II - Choose fee name

Select the name of the fee from the drop-down menu. If the fee you want to configure is not in the drop-down menu, create a custom fee. Click on ‘Add custom’ and provide the name of the fees.

Fees that have already been configured by you will not appear in the drop-down. For a custom fee:

  • The fee name cannot be the same as any of the pre-configured fees in Eshopbox.

  • Provide the exact fee name which you receive in the service provider’s payment report.

Step III - Configure fee applicability

  • Configure if the fee values defined are tax inclusive or not. Select yes, if the fee amount configured in fee rules is tax inclusive and vice versa. Also, select the tax percentage applicable to the fees.

  • Select the condition based on which service provider charges the fee. You need to configure when the fee is charged and when is the fee reversed.

💡 This condition can vary according to your service provider. Go through your agreement thoroughly to understand this and configure it correctly.

To illustrate:

  • The fee is charged when the order is shipped, and the fee is reversed in case of returns. The reversal can be either entirely or partially. If there is no fee reversal, select no and click on Continue.

  • Suppose you are charged a fee, in case of the item return. Select if the fee is charged in case of customer return or a courier return or both.

Step IV - Set Validity Period

You need to provide the duration for which this fee will be applicable. You can change the validity period of the fee later as well. The following options are available:

  • Definite Period- If the fee that you are configuring will be applicable till a specific date.

  • Indefinite Period- In this case, provide the start date from which the fee is applicable.

After selecting the appropriate option, move to the next step by clicking on Continue.

Step V - Configure fee rules

Define fee rules and chargeable amount based on different factors.

Configure “IF” condition

You can select one or more conditions based on factors that your fees depend on. Select no fee condition is required for this fee name checkbox if the fee is not dependent on any mentioned parameter. You can use the following attributes to define fee rules:

  • Brand: Select this if your fee varies according to the brand of the product

  • Payment method: Select this if the fee varies on the mode of payment, for example, prepaid, postpaid.

  • Shipping zone: Select this if the fee varies on the area to which the order is shipped.

  • Selling price: Select this if the fee varies on the basis of product price for a single unit, the range for the price, can also be provided.

  • Weight range: Select this if the fee varies on the basis of the weight of the product. You can also provide a weight range.

  • Custom field: Select this if your fee depends on any product attribute. You will have the option to define the fee based on any custom field created. Use this to define fees based on category, gender, etc. Learn more about custom fields.

Configure Then” Condition

Provide an amount when the “IF” condition(s) is satisfied. Fee can be applied to order, order item, or shipment.

Each fee must be assigned a fee type from the following. It is mandatory to provide at least one fee type.

  • Flat Fee: The amount that is charged and will not depend on that quantity. For example, INR 15 fixed closing fee is charged per order item when the selling price of the product is between Rs 500-1000.

  • Per Unit Fee: When the fee is charged based on per unit quantity. For example, INR 87 shipping fee is charged per shipment when the shipping zone is national, and product weight is 1.5 kg for each additional 1 kg.

  • Percentage Fee: Amount calculated according to the percentage value defined for the selling price. For example, a 15% commission fee is charged per order item when the category is the sweater.

In case you add two or more “then” conditions, you need to select one of the following parameters:

  • Whichever is Higher: Applicable fee will be the highest of all mentioned fee value’.

  • Whichever is Lower: Applicable fee will be the lowest of all mentioned fee values.

  • Sum of All: Calculation of fee by taking the sum of all mentioned fee value’.

💡 Please make sure the amount that has been mentioned here is tax inclusive if you have selected “no” while defining the condition.

When you have filled in all the details, you can confirm this fee by clicking continue.

Step VI: Upload fee rules in bulk

You can also define and upload the fee rules in bulk. Click the ‘skip for now’ button if you do not want to enter more fee rules right now.

  • Download the fees template. Read the instructions carefully and fill out the appropriate fields and upload the CSV file. Learn how to fill the template.

  • Eshopbox will process the uploaded CSV file. To track the progress of the uploaded CSV file, click refresh.

  • In case the CSV file fails to upload, you will receive a notification with the failure reasons. In this case, you need to take corrective action, rectify the CSV file and re-upload it in Eshopbox.
