Set up a custom domain
From the header of the Eshopbox workspace, navigate to Settings > Customer Portal > Setup your tracking page domain.
You need to follow the below steps to set up a custom domain for your tracking page:
Step 1: Add domain
Click on 'Add domain' and enter the domain you wish to set up your tracking page on. The domain name must be entered in the format https://track.yourstore.com.
Some examples of acceptable domain links:
💡 You cannot register a new independent domain name for the tracking page. You are required to create a subdomain using the domain you already own.
Once you have selected and saved the domain, your tracking domain will display the 'pending' status as shown:
Click on the 'Save' button and save your tracking page domain
Step 2: Log into your domain registrar panel
Log into your domain registrar panel from where you have purchased the domain. For example, let's say you purchased your domain from GoDaddy — you need to log in to your domain control centre.
Step 3: Create an A record on your domain registrar panel
Create an A record under your existing store with the following details in the records section of your domain registrar panel
Once the A record is created, it takes some time to map the domain — this varies for different domain registrars.
💡 An A record maps a subdomain name to the IP address of the computer hosting the domain.
Once your A record has successfully mapped the IP addre ss provided, your tracking page will be live and status will be displayed as 'Connected'. This usually takes between 24-48 hours.
What if I don't set up my tracking page domain?
If you don't set up a custom tracking page domain, Eshopbox will assign the default domain for your customer portal. This inhibits you from providing your customers with a branded tracking experience. The default domain would be in the format — https://<yourstore>.eshopbox.com as shown below:
