Enable gift wrap for your Shopify orders

Enable gift wrap for your Shopify orders

Offering gift wraps is a great way to save your customers' time. Instead of purchasing wrapping paper and packing presents themselves, your customers can take advantage of a gift wrap service available on your online store's cart page. By enabling this feature, you can provide your customers with products that are already gift-wrapped.

In order to enable gift wrap for your orders, you first need to install a gift wrap app on your Shopify store and configure it on your Eshopbox workspace.

In this article, you will learn,

  • How to install a gift wrap app on Shopify?

Step 1: Installing a gift wrap app on Shopify

To offer gift-wrapping for your orders on the Shopify store admin, follow the below steps:

  • Log in to your Shopify store admin.

  • Navigate to Apps.

  • Enter gift wrap in the Search bar. You will be redirected to the Shopify app store.

  • All the available gift wrap apps will be visible here.

  • You need to install either Wrapin or GA: Gift Wrap to enable gift wrap for Shopify orders.

  • Once the app is installed, a new product will be created on your Shopify store.

Whenever a customer opts for gift wrapping, the gift wrap product will be added to their

shopping cart and the Shopify order.

  • Turn the toggle ON for Create new order automation.

Note: In case the toggle is already ON for this automation, you need to click on Edit settings.

  • A pop-up will appear to configure the settings. Select Enable gift wrap.

  • Enter the Gift wrapping SKU present on your Shopify store admin.

  • Click on Save.

Note: To find the SKU of the gift wrap, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Log in to your Shopify store admin.

  • Click on the gift wrap product in your Shopify store admin.

  • Navigate to the Inventory section of the product.

Once the gift wrap SKU is mapped on the Eshopbox workspace, the orders fetched from Shopify having gift wrap as a component will be processed accordingly.

How Eshopbox treats gift-wrap orders?

To identify orders in which a gift wrap is added, Eshopbox adds a Gift wrap tag. This is visible on your workspace under the Orders tab.

Eshopbox will ignore the gift wrap SKU added to any order while importing orders from the Shopify store. Eshopbox will use this SKU to identify if a particular order needs gift wrapping.

Based on this the gift wrap charges will be added to the corresponding order item as Other charges.

Case 1: In case there are multiple items in the order, the gift wrap charges will be divided equally among the order items.

Case 2: In the case of a single item order, the gift wrap charges will be added to the single item.

Limitations of the gift wrap feature

As of now, there are 2 limitations to the gift wrap feature.

  • You cannot add a gift card to the order along with a gift wrap.

  • You cannot add a gift message to the order along with a gift wrap.

  • You can map only one gift wrap SKU on your Eshopbox workspace.
