Dos and don’ts of order pick-up

Dos and don’ts of order pick-up

When preparing an order for pickup by the courier at your fulfilment location, it is important to follow certain guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient handover. Here are some do’s and don'ts to keep in mind.

Dos:

  1. Ensure that the orders are segregated based on the courier partner before the scheduled pickup time.

  2. Ensure accurate and appropriate packaging of the order to prevent any damage in transit.

  3. Label the package clearly with the recipient's and return addresses and any relevant barcodes, tracking numbers, or handling instructions.

  4. Ensure that there is someone available at the fulfilment centre during the scheduled pickup time to prevent handover failure. Learn here what are the Eshopbox order pickup slots.

  5. The courier partner will attempt to pick up the order within the estimated date. You need to hand over the packed order to the courier for delivery. However, there can be instances when the pickup of the order may not happen within the estimated date. Learn here how to handle failed to handover orders.

  6. Take proper receiving from the courier of the total number of orders that you have handed over and upload the proof of handover for the same. Learn here how to handover orders.

  7. Verify the identity of the courier person by checking their ID to prevent any potential pickup fraud.

Don’ts:

  1. Do not hand over an order which is not properly packed to avoid in-transit damage.

  2. Do not paste partial shipping labels. If the label gets removed in transit, the shipment will be marked as untraceable.

  3. Do not paste incorrect shipping labels, as this may lead to delivery errors or delays.

  4. Do not hand over an order without the courier scanning the item. If an unscanned order is handed over to the courier, it might result in a handover dispute.

By adhering to these dos and don’ts, you can ensure that the order pickup process is efficient, reliable, and trouble-free for you as well as the courier partner, reducing the risk of delays or issues during the shipping process.
