Change the fulfilment location of the order in Eshopbox

When an order is created on the Eshopbox workspace, it is automatically allocated to the nearest fulfilment location having sellable inventory and a shipment is created for that location.

There can be certain instances when you might have to change the fulfilment location for an order, such as:

  • If you want to ship the order from a fulfilment location other than the one assigned to it.

  • If the inventory for an item of the order is not found at the location or is in damaged condition at the assigned fulfilment location.

  • If no fulfilment location is assigned to an order, you can allocate it to the fulfilment location where you will be adding the inventory. This happens when an order is marked as unfulfillable.

Note:

  • You cannot update the fulfilment location of an order which is in Ready to Ship or Cancelled status.

  • You cannot change the fulfilment location for a marketplace order as it is pre-defined by the marketplace.

In this article, you will learn how to change the fulfilment location for an order on your workspace.

Steps to change the fulfilment location

To change the fulfilment location for an order, you need to follow the below-given steps:

  • Step 1: Log in to your Eshopbox workspace.

  • Step 2: From the header, navigate to Orders > All Orders.

  • Step 3: You will be redirected to the Orders page. Search for the order for which you want to change the fulfilment location.

  • Step 4: Click on Take Action. Select Change location from the dropdown.

  • Step 5: You will be redirected to the Change Location page. Select the items of the order for which you want to change the fulfilment location.

    You can change the fulfilment location for partial items of the order as well. Eshopbox will split the order based on the fulfilment location.

    The change location option will not be available for items which are marked as Ready To Ship or Cancelled. These will be visible under the Change location not available tab.

    Note: Depending on the selected fulfilment locations, new shipments will be created, and the Expected Ready to Ship date will be recalculated accordingly.

  • Step 6: Select the new fulfilment location from the dropdown.

  • Step 7: Select the Reason for changing the location from the dropdown.

    Note: If you have selected Others, you need to enter the reason for the same.

  • Step 8: Click on Change location.

The fulfilment location for the selected item or order will be changed. You can track the same under the Activities tab for that order.
