An invoice is generated for an order when the product is physically packed in the Eshopbox fulfilment center. The invoice amount is the amount paid by the customer. It is calculated using the formula below:

Invoice amount = MRP - discount (if any) + shipping fee (if any)

Eshopbox will record a payment against an order when the payment report is uploaded in the workspace. The paid amount is the amount you received from the service provider corresponding to an order.
In this article, you will understand how you can receive payment more than the invoice amount.

You or the service provider can provide a discount on a product. When you give a discount to the buyer, you will receive an amount equal to the invoice amount. For example, the MRP of a product is INR 2000, during a promotion or sale, you provide a discount of 20% on this product. The selling price for this product is now INR 1600. You should receive INR 1600 from this product from the service provider.

There are scenarios where the service provider provides a discount during a promotion or sale. In this case, you will receive payment more than the invoice amount. For example,

MRP of a product is INR 2000, during a promotion or sale, the service provider provides a discount of 20% on a product. The selling price for the product is now INR 1600. You should receive INR 2000 for this product from the service provider, as you have not provided the discount. From the service provider, you will receive INR 1600 and INR 400. In this case, your amount received is more than your invoice amount.

💡The service provider might charge an additional commission fee on the amount received by you. In this case, you might be charged a commission fee first on INR 1600 and then again when you receive INR 400.

Refer to the below example:

The MRP of this product is INR 6299. Flipkart provided a discount on the ICICI bank card, and the customer paid INR 5799. The invoice amount is INR 5799.

As Flipkart provided the discount, you will receive INR 6299 (5799+500). Please note the Flipkart has charged the commission fee twice INR 935.85 (859.85+75).

💡The amount that is discounted by Flipkart can be received as a part of the paid amount or reimbursement amount.
