Creating a kit is the process of combining multiple SKUs together to create a new SKU and sent it to Eshopbox. You create kit so that they are ready to ship out right away, rather than picking and packing the item individually. This can also make your shipping process much simpler, streamlined and quicker. You can pack a kit as per your choice and deliver it to the FC.

For example, product A and product B have different SKUs on the Eshopbox workspace. You can create a kit for these two products, product C, and send it to Eshopbox. Product C will be considered as a single unit at Eshopbox.

β€Œ

πŸ’‘Product A and B will be referred to as a component of product C.

In Eshopbox, there are two ways to combine multiple products – kits and virtual kits. A kit is different from a virtual kit. Eshopbox receives and stores the kit as one unit. Whereas in the case of a virtual kit, the virtual kit components are physically stored in the FC. It is assembled together on order placement.

β€ŒBefore you start

Make sure each component of the kit is created as a base product with active status.

Creating a kit individually

Navigate to Inventory > All Product > + Create product. Select kit.

Follow the below steps to create the kit.

Step I - Search

You need to search for the product that you wish to combine from the dropdown. Search using ESIN, SKU, or aliases. Enter the quantity which you want to add for the selected product. You can add multiple products to a kit. You cannot edit components of the kit once they are active.

When you add a single base product as a component, the quantity should be greater than 1. In case you want to add multiple components, quantity can be equal to or greater than 1 for each.

Step II - Identify

  • Enter the SKU (Stock keeping unit). SKU is the unique identifier of the product. It is non-editable once a product is active. It should be available on the packaging label and scannable. This helps search and identify products easily.
You can also add multiple aliases like EAN, UPC, GTIN to the product by simply clicking on the +add aliases. The aliases are also unique for each product. You cannot add the same aliases to 2 different products.

  • In case there are multiple variants of the product, you can group them by providing the same product group code. This is optional information, and you can skip this if required. Click continue.

Click continue. Completion of this step will create a product in draft status. You will able to see the product in the drafts section of inventory.

β€ŒπŸ’‘ You can also come back later and resume product creation. Eshopbox has saved the product in drafts.

Importing kit in bulk

If you want to create multiple kits, you can use a specially-formatted spreadsheet to import those details. Eshopbox uses CSV (comma-separated value) files to perform this kind of bulk task. To import file in bulk:

Navigate to Inventory > Import > Create new or update existing products. Select kit.

You can download and view a sample product CSV file to use as a template. The sample template consists of instructions, sample products, and it’s variants. Your import file is likely to have many more products and variants.

If you wish to add additional information to the product, you can create a custom field. Click on create a custom field and provide the required details.

Click on add CSV. Upload the saved CSV and submit.

Eshopbox will start processing the uploaded CSV. An import status report will be available for download once the processing is complete. Navigate to Files > Imports. Download the import status report to check the status of the uploaded CSV. The possible response can be:

  • Completed: This status means you have added a new kit to your workspace by sharing all the details as per Eshopbox guidelines. For example, 1200 Items completed. This means you have added 1200 new kits.

  • Failed: This status means your kits could not be created due to missing/incorrect details. This happens when you do not follow the guidelines. For example, 734 items failed. This means you were unable to create 734 kits.
You can find the missing/incorrect details from the error messages within the downloaded file. Now, you need to rectify the CSV and follow the same steps to upload the new CSV.

Once your kits have imported, you will be able to see them on your workspace's listing page.

πŸ’‘ Import might take time to process. Therefore you need to refresh the workspace once the import is completed.
